Today we handed in our project the webpage. Although we finished from creating the database on the webpage, we have to be ready for the oral defense which will be on Sunday, the 7th of June.

Store Your Information Project-18

After taking a long rest I started again working on the form. Of course with a big cup of coffee beside me so that I don’t get a headache><””””
I read through the codes again and again and each time I test it but it didn’t work. However, I didn’t give up and kept on working.
At last, it worked!!
I am really happy I can’t believe that I finished my part, and finished the project. I really feel that I accomplished a huge thing, and I just remembered that day when the project was introduced and what my reaction was. I was really worried and gave up before starting it, but now look where I am I just finished it and I felt it was easy of course it was tiring a lot ><’ but it is really a relief to finish this project .

Today, our teacher gave us a project time and I was so thankful and grateful for that. I worked with the forms and to know how to create and design it in Dreamweaver and make it work for the database. This is the last thing that is left for this project and the deadline is tomorrow so we ran out of time. I asked my classmates if anyone knows how to create a form. And my friend ‘Hafsa’ helped me. She taught me how to create a form and how to make it work with the database. I tried creating it in our database but I faced problems in the PHP codes><’ I read through the codes which are tooooooooooooo long and confusing I couldn’t find where the problem is><>
I decided to work with it at home after I take a rest =(

After finishing my presentation, I sat with my group member Ayesha to help her in correcting and finding the mistakes in the PHP codes. It was really hard and it really needed patience which we really lack of it. But we made our best to stay patient and not to give up. We corrected most of the mistakes in the codes.

After, managing to convert the whole Access database to Mysql, we face some problems in our webpage and the PHP codes. We really felt anxious as it is really hard to go through all the codes for each query to check what and where the mistakes are.

We had a problem in Mysql, as we converted the Access file to Mysql using software, we discovered that it didn’t convert all the data and queries as it is a trial and we have to buy it in order to convert the whole database. We suffered in searching a website or software that can convert the whole database for free. However, after a hard time and a huge effort we succeeded in finding software that converts the whole Access database to Mysql.

Today, we (me and Ayesha) accomplished most of the project. We finished coding most of the queries. I couldn’t work in the weekend as I was concerned on my IELTs exam which was yesterday.
However, I decided to work hard today and accomplish at least something.
I decided to set with my group member my friend ‘Ayesha’ to understand fully PHP, Even though that is isn’t my part, however, it is a group project and we should be helping each other and understanding all parts in the project . Each of us gave the other what she know and understood, however, we asked our classmate our friend ‘Hafsa’ and she helped us a lot. She really gave us her precious time to teach us the PHP codes. We sat with her and she taught us step by step how to create a code in PHP, how to make it work, and how to test it. We really understood it fully and now we are able to start coding and building our database.
We were able to finish the PHP coding for Query 12, and after a long suffer, failure, and disappoint. We were finished the Query 12 and tested it using the XAMPP (phpAdmin) website, and it worked.
This is a huge accomplish we really felt that we did something amazing and great. It really gave us a push forward and a new hope that we can finish this project in no time and even pass it with a good mark! I hope so =)

Time is really running out, and the days pass quickly, and we don’t really have much time to delay anything related to this project. Today, I decided to understand the whole project. My part is to be expert in XAMPP and designing forms in Dreamweaver, however, I will be also creating the webpage for the perfume project. I have created the webpage along with the links to all queries. So, I should understand the Mysql and PHP codes so that I can finish the website. I searched in the internet and read about Mysql and PHP and tried my best to understand them.

Our teacher gave us a class to go through this major, huge, easy>< project. She read the project outline and told us what she expects from us to produce. Also, she went through the deliveries and their grades. Plus, the most beneficial thing that she did was showing us the steps and where to start with. She taught us how to start searching on this project. This class really helped me a lot and it made it so clear how to start working on it. In fact, I found it kind of easy and simple and it just depend on how I search and what. Our teacher really courage us and made us trust in our abilities and that we are capable to do it, and we just should give it our time and effort.
After the class, I immediately started searching again and I found more and more sites that helped a lot. I also went to the library with my group member my friend ‘Ayesha’ and borrowed some useful books.

After a long suffer from other projects, we finished most of them. And now I can really focus on this project. Actually, every time when I decide to work on this project I really can’t because it is something new and it can’t be understood easily, so I always give up. However, now I feel I can do it and give it all of my time and effort as its deadline is so close and I don’t have a choice only to finish it as soon as possible before the deadline.
After a long suffer from other projects, we finished most of them. And now I can really focus on this project. I read about XAMPP, and tried to be more knowledgeable in it, but i faced some problems in understanding it as an expertise. However, i will search more about it, ask my classmates and the teacher.

Store Your Infromation Project-4
On Sunday, 26th April 2009, we had a session about Store your Information Project. Our teachers aranged it to discuss about the project and to make it clear for all of the students.
Unfortunately, i couldn't attend the session as i was sick, however, on Monday, 27th April 2009, i sat with my group and they told me the important staffs. Also, they said that the session was very beneficial and we understood the project, i really regret missing this session =(. After that, we divided the parts between the group members.
The parts are:
1.Expertise in the XAMPP. Expertise with designing forms in Dreamweaver. (Marwa)
2.Relational databases and how to split the existing perfume database into two or more relational tables. Expertise with MySQL (Azza)
3.Expertise with PHP and extracting data from and inputting into the database (Asma)
4.Functional specification of the application; designer of the administration modules; tester of the completed application; Expertise with designing forms in Dreamweaver. (Ayesha)
And ofcourse it will be a group work and we all will be working together.^_^

About Myself ^_^
Hi My name is Marwa Sahrawi and I am 20 years old. I am a Year 2 student at DWC studying E-Business Management. I chose this major because I love doing business through the Net and websites as its a new, cheap and easy way to start up my own business. E-Business program combines between Business and IT. I gained lots of skills in this major. I can do a business plan on my own, I am now able to manage my time and meet deadlines, I gained more of computer skills like creating websites, and I learned the basic elements of starting up a business. In E-Business Managemant, most of the projects are group projects, and that was very beneficial as i learned how to work as team and collabrate with each other. However, there are also individual projects. I study several courses such as Business Decision Making, Internet Marketing, E-Business Strategy, Data Analysis & Design, English Communications IV and others. Those courses were really great and i learned lots of new staff and strategies. Finally, i am really glad that i am studying this major, and i call it as "A multi-use Weapon" which i can work in any field that i desire; IT, Business. Also, i have lots of opportunities in choosing my career path. =)
